Chapter 50 - Iris May Have A Chance?!
-----
"Well, as always, all of you will need to form a group to explore the outskirts of Sector D, this time your group can be a bit larger, but nothing above 8 members," said the teacher, as every student began to chat around, moving out of their seats and forming groups.
Noah simply communicated with his vampires as all of them slowly walked towards him, Iris was as always, wearing an innocent smile, she seemed to always be happy when she was near Noah.
"Noah-sam- Noah, we\'ll form a party today too?" asked Iris happily.
"Yes, there is no other choice, we are all the outcasts of our class… Well it is beneficial this way," said Noah with a mild smile.
"Well, it is just an expedition… right? We don\'t… have to worry too much… right?" asked Jon rather shyly.
"That\'s what I would like it to be, but things might become way more complex as we get there, so let\'s keep our guard high…" said Noah.
"What about Adamantine?" asked Iris.
"She shall join us as well…" said Noah.
The teacher glanced at the lonely and expressionless Adamantine, despite having survived being eaten alive by Goblins and somehow recovering through some awakened healing Skill, most of the students and teachers had given her for death, mostly because she seemed to be completely broken mentally, and lacked any of her former intellect and personality.
Nonetheless, she was in good health and was made to go back to classes and… well, handle things however she could.
After the incidents that involved her and the death of her friends, most of the students glanced at her with disgust, and some even thought of her as having some kind of vegetative state.
However, Noah only gave her a telepathic message and she quickly stood up, easing the worries of the teacher to relocate her somewhere.
"Ah, A-Adamantine, will you join a group?" asked the teacher.
"Group… with Master…" said Adamantine, slowly walking towards Noah and the rest.
"Master? What does she mean? Maybe she is indeed insane now…" sighed the teacher.
The teacher glanced at Adamantine join Noah\'s group, who pretended to be a bit surprised until Arthur gently invited her to join, and Adamantine only nodded expressionless, sitting at Noah\'s side, and even grabbing his arm.
"So she joined Noah\'s group… that group is quite mysterious. Could it be possible for more of them to be hiding abilities? It could not be possible for them to have gotten perfect scores in the test of the dungeon after all… But what would Adamantine be related to them? Perhaps I am simply speculating way too much. After all, as long as they get good grades, I should not really worry," sighed the teacher, letting them be.
Adamantine glanced at Noah with her lifeless eyes, tightly grasping his arm.
"Master… hungry…" she muttered, as she slowly licked her lips, she was now getting used to being feed by Noah.
"Not here, Adamantine, and don\'t touch me in front of the class," said Noah telepathically, as Adamantine nodded sadly and moved a bit away from Noah.
"Grr…! Why can she touch you, Noah, and not me?!" asked Iris.
"Iris, you touch me all the time," said Noah.
"E-Eh? Really?" asked Iris.
"Indeed, I remember you grabbing Noah\'s arm most of the day yesterday when we were out, and in the dungeon, you also did so," said Timassa.
"A-Ah, well, I have been assuming that you two were in some kind of romantic relationship already…" said Arthur.
"Please make sure to never have such thoughts again, our relationship is mere of a creed, a family," said Noah.
"B-But there could be the chance to be something more too!" said Iris.
"No chance," said Noah.
"But Noah-sama!" cried Iris.
"Don\'t be so loud," said Noah.
"Sniff…" cried Iris, as Adamantine moved near her and petted her head.
"Mistress… no sad…" she said.
"G-Get off me! I am not sad…" said Iris while pouting, as Noah sighed.
"Does she really intends to become my romantic partner? I guess it would not be so bad if I were to someday leave offspring… Although I am not planning to die any time soon, so such thought of the next generation is not my priority… Well, looking inside my human side emotions, I do suppose I am quite romantically attracted to her. Should I suppress these useless emotions or embrace them to strengthen the bonds?" wondered Noah.
"There might be a chance, but not get your hopes high unless you work very hard to earn it," said Noah.
Suddenly, everyone around Noah became dead silent!
"Eh? Really?" asked Arthur.
"Oh… He really did say it," said Timassa.
"Master and mistress… together… as it should be…" said Jon.
"Happy…" said Adamantine.
"N-Noah…! R-Really?!" asked Iris, her face growing red as she began to breathe heavily, her face was that of a pervert!
Noah seemed mildly annoyed.
"No never mind, I didn\'t say anything, forget it," said Noah, averting his gaze from her.
"Geh…! H-How can you say that! I will still take it for granted!" said Iris.
"Do as you want…" said Noah.
"Fufu… I will!" said Iris, glancing at Noah with enamored eyes.
Although most of this conversation was done telepathically, the students around Noah\'s group glanced at them strangely.
"So Adamantine is joining the useless party?"
"To be expected of trash…"
"I guess she was never someone like us anyways,"
"Though, weirdly, she\'s joining the girl she once bullied…"
"Oh, the fat pig? I guess now that she\'s in a vegetative state, her sanity might be completely gone."
Iris seemed enraged after hearing so many comments, and her deadly aura began to leak out of her body, her eyes seemed to glow red, and she was about to leap and tear apart her fellow classmates.
However, Noah grabbed her hand.
"Calm down, not yet…" he said.
Iris calmed down, as she glanced at Noah with an apologetic smile.
"S-Sorry…"
"Don\'t be sorry. I do also contain my bloodlust. It is tiring and painful, but it is better than doing something without planning it and ruining our lives, with the possibility of dying," said Noah.
"Y-Yes… I understand," said Iris.
The group moved towards the special flying bus that was waiting for them, which would transport the class to the outskirts of Sector D.
"Are we really getting inside one of those? Wow…" said Iris.
"Ah, my father owns a few of them, we use to transport items," said Arthur.
"R-Really?! Amazing…" said Iris.
"This seems to be a flying bus also made by Axis Corporations… It seems that they have overtaken almost everything…" said Timassa.
"Indeed, it would be nice to convert the leader into a Dhampir and make him my ally… But I guess that would be way too difficult," sighed Noah.
"I don\'t know how you can even begin to have such thoughts…" said Arthur.
"T-They are indeed quite insane," said Timassa.
"Well, Noah-sama dreams big!" said Iris.
"Aside from making a Guild and survive… what is Noah\'s dream?" wondered Arthur.
"My dream? Make of this world my domain," said Noah.
"T-That\'s quite ambitious indeed," said Arthur.
"Such a long-term goal… But perhaps we might one day… reach it…" said Timassa.
"Oh, I see that you\'re finally beginning to believe Noah-sama\'s words! When he says that he will do something, he will do it!" said Iris.
"Master is… ambitious… someone worth following…" said Jon.
While chatting through telepathy, the flying bus flew high in the sky, reaching the outskirts in less than two minutes.
