Chapter 61 - Learning How To Fly!
-----
Noah grabbed the E-Rank Core that the Giant Bat dropped when he killed it, glancing at its splendor, it had a slightly bigger size than F-Rank Cores, and a greater splendor, releasing a golden and red hue… This color was a Force Attribute Value Core.
"Those that reach 75 in every attribute value cannot gain more stats by consuming low ranked Cores and need to slowly absorb higher ranked ones. And obviously, higher-ranked ones also give more stats… This one would give two points of Force instead of the one point that an F-Rank Core would give… Higher ranked monsters are harder to kill, but the amount of stats that their cores give are higher in compensation…" thought Noah, as he evaded the strong winds released by a large Giant Bat rushing towards him, jumping into the air as he manipulated the blood rushing inside of his very body and made himself fly, something that he wouldn\'t be capable of before becoming a Vampire Noble, as his control over Blood was not as excellent and he needed to put blood patches on his feet.
Ding!
[You acquired the [Flight: 1 (B)] Skill!]
"Oh? I guess I can indeed fly at this point…" thought Noah while glancing below as the nine other bats rushed towards him, opening their large jaws with razor-sharp teeth!
"GRRYAARR!"
Noah\'s claws grew into grotesque crimson nails, as he moved at a great speed and slashed through two of the Giant Bats\' wings, making them fall hopelessly into the ground!
"Take them out," said Noah, sending the flightless bats towards his subordinates, as Iris and the rest of the group immediately began to pulverize the creature while being weakened.
Iris used her sharp nails to slice through it and infest it with her poison, Arthur slowly degraded their flesh with his corrosion, Timassa electrified them with her black thunder, Jon drained their life out of their bodies, and Adamantine slashed them into smithereens.
The two Giant Bats were out of the game in mere seconds, their combined attacks were already way too lethal!
Noah smiled, as he intercepted the large jaws of one of the Giant Bats nearing his head with his bare claws, opening the jaw wide open.
"Let\'s see how far your jaw can go," said Noah maliciously, as he broke open the Bat\'s jaw without much trouble, making it disappear into black smoke the second after for a core to drop from it.
The other Giant Bats glanced with a bit of fear at Noah, they seemed to have become weary of his power, as one of them was enshrouded in shadows and began to fire black spears made with magic towards him!
"Oh? There\'s a talented one in here…" thought Noah, darting like a crimson meteor towards the Giant Bat, reaching it in a single second and punching its stomach with enough strength to make it vomit a mouthful of blood!
"GRRAAHH…!"
Boom!
The Bat was sent flying into the ceiling, hitting the sharp crystals stuck into the rock and breaking its bones, exploding into black smoke, and disappearing.
"Useless, it didn\'t drop anything," sighed Noah, noticing that the other Giant Bats decided to target his subordinates instead, thinking of them as weaker than the monster he was, only to find themselves being torn apart into pieces not long after while being poisoned and drained off their life force.
"Phew, that was a good warmup!" said Iris, collecting the dropped cores and saving them inside of the Dimensional Storage Ring.
"Amazing, Noah, you can now just… fly?" asked Arthur.
"Yeah, by manipulating the blood inside of my own body, I can make it float… Of course, a normal person\'s body would most likely burst if it were to manipulate its own blood to go against gravity, but our bodies are certainly not those of a normal human…" said Noah.
"Amazing… I wonder if we can do it too?" asked Arthur.
"All those with Blood Control should be able, although Ghouls lack such Skill, so they are the exception… However, Ghouls have greater physical capabilities than us, so they could even find a way to jump so high that it might seem like floating… Or maybe find a way to use your current abilities to fly," said Noah, pointing at Timassa\'s black thunder and Adamantine\'s Dark Aura.
"Wait, wouldn\'t that screw our senses of direction?" wondered Arthur.
"Not anymore, we are not humans… Our physical senses are vastly dulled out at this point, pain is not as impactful as before, and our senses have become more related with our own souls, becoming pseudo-spiritual, which linger outside of our physical flesh," said Noah.
"Amazing…" said Jon.
"It feels like Noah-sama could be a good Vampire teacher!" said Iris.
"Teacher? What a boring job, I will only teach those that serve me, but not anyone else," said Noah.
"Using my own thunder to fly? Perhaps… I could find a way, now that you mention it, I am getting some ideas… But it will need a lot of practice," said Timassa.
"Practice…" said Adamantine, seemingly meaning to say the same thing that Timassa said.
"So we Dhampirs have to train Blood Manipulation?" asked Arthur.
"Yes, yesterday what I did to fly was sticking blood patches into my feet and then manipulate them to float, try to do that, Arthur, Iris, Jon," said Noah, as the trio of Dhampirs immediately tried to do as Noah suggested.
A little bit after, the three were barely floating a few centimeters before falling into the ground, their sense of direction was still adapting to being spiritual, and unlike Noah, they did not have the help of the Blood Core to give them more power and talent.
"Hmm, good. Keep up like that while we kill monsters," said Noah.
"W-While we kill monsters?! B-But Noah-sama…!" cried Iris, as a large group of over ten Giant Bats emerged from the shadows of caves, the group had already entered deeply into them, and they seemed to have found a large lair of these creatures!
"Don\'t worry, we\'ll watch your backs," said Noah, as he floated into the air and began to fight against large hordes of Bats without even breaking a sweat, even if such creatures were over three meters tall and had enormous jaws that could tear him apart I seconds!
More and more bats began to fall into the ground, their wings were cut off and the rest of the group work was to defeat them!
"Nnnghh…! Float well you stupid blood!" roared Iris, shrouding herself on her Demon Phantom Fox and Rage Mode Skills and flying like a meteor towards one of the Giant Bats, pulverizing its head with all the weight of her body, but ending up falling terribly into the ground, with some of her bones broken…
CLASH!
"Augh… I guess I messed up a bit…" said Iris, drinking the blood she extracted from the Bat and regenerating her bones.
"C-Corrode!" cried Arthur, as he attacked one of the wingless bats and ended up hitting it with his head instead, the bat was knocked out as it hit its forehead, but Arthur\'s skull cracked a bit, thankfully, the bat was still alive, and he drank its blood to recover.
"That was… not as I expected it would turn out…" said Arthur.
"Evil Eye," said Jon, he was the one that was managing the best to float around, hovering over three meters now, he drained the life out of a wingless bat that Noah left for him to defeat, successfully attaining a victory!
"Well done Jon," said Noah, throwing even more bats at them.
"Is Jon a prodigy at this?" wondered Iris.
