Chapter 243 Training Formation (Part 2)
When Galen looked at the battle maid, who had reached level 5, and noticed that even with her dagger, she was having trouble fending off the stones that charged at her, he said, "And that\'s the limit." And then, as soon as a stone impacted her body, all of the stones in the air vanished in an instant as well, and the formation came to an immediate halt.
"At level 5, she was able to maintain her resistance for the full seven seconds. It\'s very impressive," Galen remarked with a smile on his face.
\'\'So, what is the highest record? \'\' Raydon inquired.
"Loran holds the highest record among E-Ranks with 55 seconds, followed by me with 43 seconds," Galen said.
\'\'What about those with ranks higher than E? \'\'
Raydon didn\'t even care about the F-Rank\'s record because even the best of them couldn\'t reach level 3, so he was curious about other higher-ranked people like family elders.
\'\'Naturally, since they are all capable of reaching the fifth level but unable to pass it, they don\'t have a record among one another. However, according to my father, the only person who managed to endure the 6th level was my grandfather, and even then, he could only sustain it for 30 seconds using solely the movement technique. After that, he could last an additional 10 or 20 seconds by incorporating his dagger technique,\'\' Galen explained.
\'\'Oh, young master, I didn\'t realize you were here,\'\' the blond-haired battle maid exclaimed as she approached, wiping the sweat from her face with a towel in her hand.
\'\'Given how much of your focus you devote to your training, it\'s only natural. It\'s impressive that you\'ve managed to surpass your previous time and improve yourself. It seems like you\'ll catch up to me soon,\'\' Galen said with genuine happiness in his voice.
Afterward, he said, turning to face Raydon. \'\'Oh, by the way, I don\'t know whether you remember her or not, but allow me to reintroduce her to you. She is Mell, my battle maid. \'\'
"Young master, may I ask whether you are aware that it is against the rules to bring an F-Rank here during our training time? What if he accidentally gets hurt while we\'re training? \'\' Without waiting for Raydon\'s response, Mell spoke while displaying an irritated expression.
When Galen noticed the change in Mell\'s demeanor, he said, "Haha, don\'t worry Mell, I\'m here to keep an eye on him, and also I don\'t think he is any ordinary F-Rank, so he won\'t be hurt so easily. \'\'
He understood that the way everyone in the mansion treated him stemmed from their perception of him as weak, not worthy of the title of the young master. So, in an effort to lighten the mood and prevent Raydon from feeling offended by Mell\'s words, he spoke up; however, he quickly realized that this is not the end of the situation.
"I believe that she is correct, Galen," Raydon said in a calm voice before continuing with a smile on his face. " She has to focus all of her attention just to avoid a few stones, and she didn\'t even realize we were watching her. Her lack of awareness appears to be so bad that she might even accidentally attack her teammates during matches, let alone hurt those who are close to her during training. \'\'
After Raydon spoke up, he had a sudden realization about his teammates, some of whom he had unintentionally killed in the past. However, he swiftly pushed the thought aside, telling himself that it wasn\'t the same thing.
After hearing Raydon\'s response, Mell\'s frown momentarily appeared, but it disappeared just as quickly and was replaced by a smile on her face. "It seems that Young Master Raydon has discovered his self-confidence now that he has become an item holder," she remarked. "Why don\'t you give the training a try yourself? Who knows, perhaps you might even reach the third level."
\'\'Mell, this training formation was created for our techniques, so I don\'t think it\'s a good idea,\'\' Galen said, immediately interjecting himself into the verbal argument that was taking place between the two. He didn\'t even know if Raydon knew any movement techniques, so he didn\'t want to watch him embarrass himself in the formation that was designed to help their families improve their techniques.
"Why not?" Mell responded with a tone that contained an undercurrent of humor. After that, she turned her attention towards Raydon as she continued speaking.
"There is no need to be concerned; this training formation possesses a special ability that completely negates the effect of stat points. It is solely concerned with evaluating and improving the level of mastery of the technique that you use. Therefore, regardless of your rank, it is an equal playing field in which to evaluate your techniques and master them. \'\'
\'\'Still… \'Due to the fact that she was being so obstinate and demanding, Galen desired to make another intervention; however, Raydon broke his silence before he could.
\'\'Sure. At the very least, I am confident that my technique is superior to the half-assed technique that you have. \'\' Raydon said as he made his way to the middle of the formation.
After observing that they took pride in a technique that was so rudimentary and riddled with flaws, he made up his mind to demonstrate what the actual technique ought to look like to them.
\'\'Half-assed technique? Don\'t you think you\'ve gone a little too far? \'In response to Raydon\'s comment, Mell\'s anger flared up. To hear this from someone who not long ago could not even feed himself was deeply offensive to her.
"Cousin, I think it\'s best if you refrain from saying such things," Galen interjected, his disapproval evident in his tone.
Knowing that Raydon had received training from a high-rank master, Galen contemplated the possibility of him possessing superior techniques. However, he firmly believed that it was unacceptable for him to mock the techniques that his family cherished and in which they took great pride.
